The Weed-Nun Sister Guarding Her Garden is a one-of-a-kind handmade keepsake from our sisterhood, and a small tribute to the work we love. The Sisters rescue forlorn and abandoned dolls, clean them up, and help them find a purpose-driven life, and this little nun has found hers standing watch over her garden. Only two of these pieces exist, so this is a true collector's item rather than something we make again and again. Each one can be hung on a wall or set out to stand on its own.

What you receive

Your piece arrives in a tin casing, roughly fifteen inches by twelve. The background scene is a photograph taken in the Sisters' own garden in the central valley of California, so a real corner of our home travels with the doll. Everything pictured for a single set is included just as shown. Where you see more than one doll in the photos, those images are only there to show you the pieces we have and to place the two sets side by side, not to suggest you receive more than one.

How it is made

This is a true team effort across the miles. The little uniforms were hand-sewn for us by a kind woman in Ukraine, and the plants tucked into the scene are made right here by our own hands. The rest is the patient work of rescuing, cleaning, and re-dressing a doll that needed a second chapter, then building the garden world she now guards. No two will ever be exactly alike, which is part of the charm of a handmade keepsake.

The Weed-Nun is meant in good humor and good spirit, a wink at the world the Sisters live in. The garden she guards is the same kind of crop our enclave tends by hand and by the moon.
