Miniature Lighters

This is a tiny, doll-scale lighter, one of the little props we make by hand for our Metties doll world. It is a sweet finishing touch for a diorama or a Sister doll's everyday scene, and it is part of our Metties collection. Like everything that comes out of our craft yurt, it is small in size and full of intention.

What you get

One miniature lighter is included with your purchase. You are welcome to request a color and we will do our best to match it, though what ships depends on what we have on hand at the time. Since these are made in small batches from recycled and gathered materials, little variations from piece to piece are part of their charm.

About the Metties

Our doll family is called the Metties, short for Metaphor Dolls, and they are hand-made from recycled materials in our craft yurt. Nearly all of them were rescued from flea markets, found naked and forlorn, then cleaned up and given good clothes, a roof, good food, and choice-filled, purpose-driven lives as Sisters. We named them the Metties because they are a metaphor for throw-away people, and our mission runs the other way: dignity, renewal, and financial independence for women. Think of the World War II Betties who found liberation through their work. Our Metties do the same. (We have a harder time finding rescued dolls of color secondhand, since they turn up more rarely, so those we buy new on purpose, because our sisterhood is meant to look like all of us.)
