What the Sisters of The Valley CBD pet oil is made of

Organic liquid coconut oil and the hemp plant used comes from varieties bred to be high in CBD compounds. Our CBD Pet Oil does not contain any fragrances or essential oils.

How the  Sisters of The Valley oils are made

The plant is cooked into the coconut oil at low temperatures, then strained. 

Volume

Choose the smaller, one-ounce size (1 oz.), or the larger two-ounce (2 oz.) size.  Average serving size:  1/4 tsp (1.25 ml).  There are 24 servings in the small bottle and 48 in the large bottle.

Dosage

CBD and all the other compounds found in the hemp plant are highly experimental, so the Sisters advise you to medicate your pets carefully and cautiously, starting with a microdose to make sure there is no allergic reaction to the coconut oil or the hemp. 

Once it is known that the pet has no allergic reaction, the dosage can be experimented with.  To estimate the starting dosage, take a human dose and multiply it by the fraction of weight the pet represents.  If the human weighs 100 pounds and the pet weights 10 pounds, then the starting human dosage of ½ to 1 teaspoon should be reduced to 1/10th for dosing the pet.

For an average-sized person, one-half teaspoon is the starting dosage.  If the pet weighs 50 to 60 pounds then, the pet’s dosage would be 1/4th of a teaspoon.

The range is affected by size and condition.  The more pain or illness, the higher the dosage needed to mitigate symptoms.

Pay close attention to your pet and adjust dosing depending on the pet’s response to the medicine.  And don’t stop seeing your veterinarian.
